Meet Our Team

We Are Nurses Specialized in Wound, Ostomy and Continence Management
All of our NSWOCs are highly skilled Registered Nurses, members in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario. All have current vulnerable sector police checks.

Virginia McNaughton  BA, MPA, RN, NSWOC, WOCC(C) 

Virginia McNaughton is a Master’s prepared, Canadian Nurses Association Certified, Nurse Specialist, in Wound Ostomy and Continence Nursing.

Virginia has a broad background in health care, promoting best practices in wound ostomy and continence care including, but not limited to:
  • Clinical Nurse Specialist in wound, ostomy and continence for Care Partners in Kitchener Waterloo (carepartners.ca) and Saint Elizabeth Health Care Toronto (sehc.com)
  • Subject Matter Expert for the development of a widely used online wound management tool (healthoutcomesww.com) 
  • Past Director of Wound Ostomy and Continence Institute, the educational branch of the Association for Nurses Specializing in Wound Ostomy and Continence Canada (wocinstitute.ca)
  • Manager for Professional Development for ConvaTec Canada (convatec.ca)
  • Associate Director of Nursing at St. Mary’s of the Lake Hospital in Kingston, Ontario
  • Queen’s University Nursing Lecturer. 
Virginia completed the Cultural Competency and Safety course provided by the Canadian Healthcare Association for health professionals working with First Nations, Inuit and Métis clients. She has worked with Aboriginal nurses and nurses working with Aboriginal Canadians and provided many virtual and face-to-face educational programs. 
 
She is a contributing author to textbooks, best practice guidelines and journals and is a well-known international wound management educator, both online as well as in person, assisting organizations locally and as far away as Trinidad and Tobago and Iqaluit, Nunavut to build their capacity in wound management nursing.

Kathryn Rzeszutko BScN RN, NSWOC, WOCC(C)

Kathryn Rzeszutko​ is a Registered Nurse, graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She is a Canadian Nurses Association Certified Nurse Specialist, in Wound Ostomy and Continence.

With over 14 year of nursing experience, Kathryn has been committed to improving outcomes in community nursing for over 11 years at Saint Elizabeth Health Care. She is also a contractor with CarePartners.  Her roles have included front line nursing, leadership roles, clinical educator, preceptor to many nurses, and a member of the Saint Elizabeth Staff Association.

Kathryn became a Nurse Specialist in Wounds, Ostomies and Continence and continues to practice throughout the Waterloo-Wellington Region including Conservative Wounds Sharps Debridement, ABPI/TBPIs, Negative Pressure Wound Therapy, compression therapy, and offloading. Kathryn is the co-founder of the Ostomy support group in Mount Forest and continually advocates with the LHIN to improve practices in the region. She has collaborated with industry to conduct clinical trials to bring new products to our region.
